COMPOSITIONS 1934-1942
Composer and instrumentist Gus Viseur is the first stylist of jazz with an accordion. Didier Roussin presents accordionist Gus Viseur in his bal musette role, spicing the old waltz with the accents of gypsy guitarists, and edging his way towards what would become known as the “swing waltz”. As this new “Compositions” series is devoted to the works of specific composers, there are other performers on parade here besides Viseur himself : Tony murena and the Colombo brothers. Some of the best performers of this unique French (and almost Parisian) musical style in which grew up a certain Django Reinhardt... Includes a 12 page booklet with both French and English notes.
