Le programme de concerts de Claude Bolling comporte principalement ses compositions, mais comme tous les jazzmen, il aime également jouer des thèmes appelés “standards” dans le langage des musiciens. Ces grands “classiques” signés Jerome Kern, Cole Porter ou Hoagy Carmichael, flattent non seulement notre mémoire, mais permettent aussi d’apprécier l’originalité du talent de Claude Bolling, ici en formation de trio. Les thèmes regroupés sur ce disque sont ceux qui lui sont les plus demandés en concert.

Claude Bolling’s concert repertory consists primarily of his own compositions but, like all jazzmen, he also likes playing “standards”.  These great classics by men such as Jerome Kern, Cole Porter or Hoagy Carmichael, not only bring back memories, they also allow us to appreciate Bolling’s personal talent.  He performs here as a trio.  The titles on this recording are those most often asked for in concert.
