JUNGLES OF SULAWESI
On this CD the listener will find 66 minutes of concerts recorded in the jungles of Celebes Islands, or Sulawesi. The natural concerts from this part of the world, a tropical region still very much forested, offers an astonishing variety of melodies, tones and rhythms that have never before been reproduced on CD. In listening to these natural concerts the listener will thus discover sounds of our planet unknown until now.

JUNGLES DES ÎLES CÉLÈBES
JUNGLES OF SULAWESI
byJean-Luc Herelle et Jean Roche
This CD has been produced from the recordings of Mr. Rémy BRUCKERT, that were taken during a mission he made for CEBA, in Sulawesi, during 1995. Mr. BRUCKERT had informed us, officially, that he wanted to take no further part in the production of this CD.
The sounds of the Sulawesi jungle - at the present time no CD has been published - we thought, therefore, that they ought to be published, and so we asked Dr Bas van BALEN, of Birdlife International at Bogor, Indonesia, if he wouldn’t mind identifying the birds, a task he kindly accepted. We are grateful to him for the work he did.
We then asked Jean-Luc HÉRELLE to undertake the editing and mixing of the original tape in his studio, on numerical direct-to-disc equipment. This he accepted to do, even though the recordings contained a lot of interference and were thus difficult to clean and use to the full. The real author of this CD, a work of high musical standard, is therefore Jean-Luc HÉRELLE.
As in other Asian rain forests, the sounds of the Sulawesi jungle are very diverse and at certain times of the day form real concerts. They are sounds of our planet, Earth, that are, except to those living there, as yet unknown to man.
In this CD the different habitats are connected together as if the listener was on a long walk which takes them from one habitat to the next without stopping.”
Jean-Claude Roché, Mens, May 11, 1997
