25 April 1974 : The Portuguese revolution was held in a festive atmosphere. While the dictatorship regime was muzzling all means of information, the revolutionary message was passed on through song, waking the people and preparing them for the peaceful action which was to lead Portugal to democracy. More than a simple deposition concerning this major event in contemporary Portuguese history, the songs selected here were a means of action and communion. They made History as we can witness here.

Enquanto a ditadura dominava todos os meios de informação, as canções permetirão veicular a mensagem revolucionaria, alertar as consciências e preparar a acção pacifica que conduziria Portugal a democracia. Mais que um testemunho de este acontecimento considerável da história contemporânea Portuguêsa, as cançãos aqui apresentadas foram um meio de acção e de participação. Elas fizeram a história tanto como a refletem presentemente.
